Hazrat Imam Ensemble
Hazrat Imam Square is known primarily by the fact that the famous script of Koran, referring to the middle of VII century and written on tanned hides of deer is kept at there. The uniqueness of this relic is that some of its pages preserved blood drops of Khalif Osman. This holy book was brought to Samarkand by Amir Temur, but in 1869 General von Kaufmann sent a relic to the Imperial Library situated in St. Petersburg. After many wanderings, in 1924, the relic was taken to Tashkent, where he was kept in the Museum of History of Uzbek people. In the early 90-ies of XX century Quran of Osman Khalif on the initiative of the first president of the Republic of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov, was handed over to the Spiritual Administration of Muslims of Uzbekistan. In 2007, in front of Barak-Khan, on the former site of madrassas Mui Muborak (. XVI c) there was a construction of a new building of the Spiritual Administration of Muslims in Uzbekistan. Moreover, a museum was built specifically for the sacred relics, where famous Osman's Koran is kept under glass. It also has more than 22 thousand religious books.
