Monuments of Akhsikent
The site of an ancient town Akhsikent is the largest archaeological site of the Fergana Valley. It consists of three ancient settlements, belonging to different historical periods. The first settlement appeared here in the 3 century BC. The second one in 8-13 century and then was destroyed by Genghis Khan. During the reign of the Timurid dynasty, Ahsikent rose again from ruins and there was a rise of the third settlement.
