Zaraut-Kamar Petroglyphs
Painted images of this grotto were discovered in 1939 by local hunter I.F.Lamaev. The initial conclusions that the painting refers to the Paleolithic era proved to be erroneous. A.A.Formozov admits that the painting refers to the Mesolithic Age or even to the later ages. The painting in the grotto is made with ocher of different shades (from red-brown to lilac) and represents four groups of images, including anthropomorphic figures and bulls.
