It is said that museums are a mirror of history. The history of Uzbekistan is closely connected with the history of the Great Silk Road, which has crossed the country for thousands of years.
At present, there are 110 different museums in Uzbekistan. Most of them are located in Tashkent, the rest are in the main tourist cities: Samarkand, Bukhara and Khiva. One of the most famous museums of Central Asia is the Art Museum named after Savitsky located in Nukus, in the capital and administrative center of the Republic of Karakalpakstan.
The presence of many museums with the most diverse collections reflects the features of the social and cultural development of Uzbekistan. The state pays serious attention to the development of museum business and the restoration of unique monuments. A striking example of this is the creation of the Timurid Museum of History, which is admirable not only by the uniqueness of the exhibits, but also by the originality of the architecture and decoration of the building.
