There are about 150 nations and nationalities in Uzbekistan, and all of them have freedom of belief. That’s why you can see different Mosques, Orthodox churches, a Catholic Church, synagogues, prayer houses of Baptists and Adventists, Hare Krishna community and a Buddhist temple in Tashkent.
The construction of churches and cathedrals for the needs of Poles, Russians, Lithuanians, Germans and Armenians residing on the territory of the country was carried out at the end of the 19th and beginning of the 20th century. At present, Christian churches of various faiths are registered and active in the country - the Roman Catholic Church, the Russian Orthodox Church, the Evangelical Lutheran Church and others.
Old and newly rebuilt Christian churches and temples help believers to be closer to their spiritual roots, cultural and religious traditions, to communicate with faith brothers living in the hospitable land of Uzbekistan.
